Rod Sherman and Howard Kelly spent many years working side by side, helping clients through changing tax laws, growing businesses, and life's many financial decisions. As Rod shared in a 1991 newspaper article, being an accountant is not just about preparing tax returns, it is about helping people understand their finances, plan ahead, and make confident decisions for the future.
Their commitment to their clients, the profession, and the Cape Cod community helped shape the firm we are today.
Howard is no longer with us, and Rod has stepped back after decades of dedicated service. The next generation is proud to continue what they started. While our team has grown and technology has changed the way we work, the heart of our firm remains the same: treating every client with respect, providing honest advice, and building relationships that last.
Remembering Howard Kelly
Howard Kelly was one of the founders of Sherman, Kelly & Associates, P.C., but to so many people, he was simply Howard, a familiar face, a trusted advisor, and a friend.
For many years, Howard welcomed clients into the office, shared a story or a laugh, and took the time to get to know the people he worked with. He cared about their families, their businesses, and what was happening in their lives. His work was important to him, but so were the relationships he built along the way.
Those who knew Howard will remember his knowledge, his sense of humor, his stories, and the conversations that often went well beyond taxes and accounting.
Howard helped create the firm we know today, and his influence can still be felt in the way we work with our clients and with one another.
We are thankful for the many years we shared with Howard and for all that he gave to the firm, our clients, and our community.
He will be greatly missed, fondly remembered, and always be a part of the Sherman, Kelly & Associates family.
